Julia was a “family” person in every sense of the word. She loved her children, adored her grandchildren and treasured her great grandchildren and many other “adopted” family members. If you entered into her home or were a friend of her family, you knew you were welcomed and loved. Whether she offered you a “schanwitch” or her favorite chocolate chip cookie and coffee combo, you felt welcomed and loved in her presence. Along with this loving personality, she had an amazing sense of humor and could switch her sweet to sass in seconds. Even during her struggle with dementia, she would remind us of this sass occasionally by saying, “Kiss my @~~ “! The smiles and laughs that she brought to those around her will be missed but will last forever as great memories and bring joy when comfort is needed.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Edward Carl Taylor, her sister Maria del Carmen Rice (John), her daughter Kathleen Taylor Pai (Clinton), 7 grandchildren – Elizabeth Taylor( Matt), Clinton Pai Jr. (Bridget), Seth Pai, Meghan Taylor, Julianna Hudgins (Daniel), Dylan Taylor, Isaiah Pai, 8 Great grandchildren – Cainan, Nina, Dylin, Mason, Blakelei, Alana, Kohen, Edith and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Edward Carl Taylor, Jr., her siblings Praxedes, Manola, Josefa (Peppa), Loli , Paqui, young baby brother and parents.
The family would like to thank the family physician, Dr. Meenal Dwyer, Riverside In-Home hospice and Visiting Angels for their loving care and family support throughout her illness.
A celebration of life will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on a future date and final internment will be held privately at Albert G. Horton Veteran’s cemetery in Suffolk. Arrangements by Altmeyer Funeral Home.
