She was a daughter of the late William and Mrs. Katie Thoroughgood and the widow of Fred Douglas Hampton.
She was a native of Norfolk.
Surviving are two sons, Waddell Hampton and Arlew Hampton of Philadelphia, and nine grandchildren.
The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted in St. John's A.M.E. Church, of which she was a member, Tuesday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. W. L. Hildebrand, pastor. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
