Darl R. Blackman, age 79, of Bloomingdale, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Darl was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Otsego, and resided in this area all of his life where he retired after 30 years at Rockwell in 1985. He loved farming, especially horses, and was very active in 4-H. Surviving are his wife, Joanne "Peg", whom he married July 4, 1958; 8 children, Dennis (Cheryl) Blackman of Bloomingdale, Douglas (Lou) Blackman of Three Rivers, Darlene (Billy) Mullins of Megargel, TX, Pamela Blackman of Billings, MT, Perry Blackman of Megargel, TX, Debbie (David) Richmond of Allegan, Darla (Steve) Murk of South Haven, Daryl Blackman of Bloomingdale; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Blackman of Hopkins; one son-in-law, Jeff Schlabach of Sturgis; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents 3 brothers, one daughter, 3 grandchildren and one great grandson. Following his wishes cremation has taken place. The family will meet friends Saturday 10 AM until time of memorial service at 11 AM, Pastor Jeffrey Dick officiating, at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials in Darl's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
