Bessie Eva Harris was born July 11, 1911 in House, New Mexico, the oldest daughter and second child of Ernest T. and Bessie (Rusk) Harris. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Wagoner County, Oklahoma. It was there she met and married Clinton Dill. They were the parents of four children, Mary Ellen, Opal, William and James Lester. While still a young woman, she was left a widow when Clinton died of a heart ailment. She remarried two times and was widowed both times. Eventually, she moved to Osceola, Missouri where her children had relocated years earlier.
She died 2003 and was buried in the Macedonia Cemetery, St. Clair County, Missouri. She outlived her parents, nearly all her brothers and sisters, 3 of her children and at least one grandchild.
