Donald Watts
August 18, 1956 – March 20, 2020
On Friday, March 20, 2020, Donald Martin Watts, devoted husband to Mary and adoring father to Tonett, passed away at age 63.
Don was born on August 18, 1956, in Erie, PA, to Vivian Donald Watts and Donna E. (Hinkle) Watts. He was loving, caring, understanding, and compassionate. He was also a peacemaker and always available to help anyone in need . . . truly a friend to all. On May 9, 1981, Don married Mary (Zielinski) Watts and together they raised their daughter, Tonett Evelyn Watts, the apple of his eye.
Known for his wit and his kind and compassionate spirit, you would most often find Don working in his trademark jeans and black t-shirt. He was a Jack of all trades, loved to tinker and work with his hands and had a passion for carpentry. In addition, he had worked at Tropicana, Watts’ Plant Farm, and his own business ventures. Don’s hobbies included coin and stamp collecting and listening to music from groups such as Petra, Goose Creek Symphony, and Mannheim Steamroller, to name just a few. Don is survived by his wife, Mary, his daughter, Tonett (Toni), his father, Vivian Donald Watts, his mother, Donna E. (Hinkle) Watts, a sister, Debbra Abalos, a brother, Matthew Watts, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A time of gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton, FL, with a graveside Celebration of Life service at 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 25th, 2020, at Braden River Cemetery, 5835 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton, FL.
