She married Walter A. Harmon, Jr. on September 19, 1950 at the Justice of the Peace in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They were the parents to two daughters and two sons. Dorothy retired from Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma in 1975 where she worked as a machine operator. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and spending time with family. She loved to fish, play cards, dominoes, and listening to Elvis Presley Gospel Music. Dorothy accepted Jesus in 1974 in Oklahoma City and was a member of Erin Springs Baptist Church in Lindsay.
Survivors include daughter, Diana Sander and husand Robert of Prague, Oklahoma; son, James Harmon and wife Linda of Oklahoma City; and son Vernon Harmon of Oklahoma City. Nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Fletcher and wife, Ann of Everett, Washington.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years and daughter, Barbara Hanes, her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Pauls Valley, OK with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating. Burial will be under the direction of John W. Williams o
