Emmanuel P. "Manny" Mikedis, 84, of Lynn, died Sunday December 8, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at home, after a long battle with cancer. Manny was born and raised in Mirmigki Chios Greece, to the late Penelope and Panteli Mikedis. He proudly served in the Greek military before moving to Lynn, and lived on the same street for almost 60 years with his beloved wife Betty (Andros) Mikedis. Manny worked for Old Neighborhood Foods , before owning and operating an Amoco Station in Lynn. After the gas crisis in the late 1970s Manny became a machinist at GE in Lynn, retiring after 28 years. He was an avid gardener, who proudly shared his vegetables and tomatoes to family and friends, and anyone who visited. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Manny is survived by his beloved wife Betty, daughter Penelope Mikedis, her partner Joyce Benedetto of Lynn, and their son Stephanos. Son Peter Mikedis, his wife Stella of Saugus, and their sons Christopher and Andrew Mikedis, his sister Eleni Psillos and her husband John of Lynn, sister Zafira Papagianakis and her husband Petro of Lynn, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings; sister, Marianthi Paidousi and her husband Nicholas, brother, John Mikedis and his wife Despina, brother, Nicholas Mikedis and his wife Evangelo, and sister, Harriet Kalogridis and her husband Nicholas.
