Donald Dwayne Chambers was born on Wednesday, February 25, 1959, the son of Donald Edgar and Ruby Chambers. He was born in Tahlequah and raised in the Taliholt and Welling area with one brother, Randell and two sisters, Linda and Sharon. Dwayne loved the community of Taliholt. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing at Granny Anders home with his cousin Carl. From a young age, he had a passion for mechanic work and honed his skills at a local shop during high school. He also spent his teen years, breaking horses, running the back roads, and taking motorcycle trips with his friends. For 36 years, Dwayne has been a valued employee and mechanic for Arkola Ready mix. When he wasn’t working, family was his top priority. He started rebuilding race cars when his son Tyler was only 13 years old, meriting him the emblem “T13” on his race car. He was Tyler’s biggest fan and never missed a chance to watch him race. It didn’t matter if it was a road trip, sharing stories over an old engine in the garage or hanging out in the back yard, he enjoyed being around his family. Although he wasn’t much of a cook himself, when everyone gathered for a dinner, Dwayne enjoyed watching Randell show off his cooking skills. He was always cracking jokes and could be found playing in the floor with the grandkids, nieces and nephews. Tyler’s dog, Rex, fell right in with the family. Each day he arrived home from work, he was greeted with a hug from his boxer, Rex. He was also the best neighbor you could ask for and was always willing to help whether you needed it or not. Dwayne was your typical old country boy that met a city girl one day, and just couldn’t go on without her. He made Arlene Brackett his wife at Caney Church. After that, they set up their home in the heart of Taliholt, where they spent many amazing years together until her passing in 2019. One of the last good memories the family made with Dwayne was playing the Tahlequah Monopoly Game, it is time that will forever be cherished by them all. He left this life on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the age of 61.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Arlene Chambers and daughter, Dana Brackett.

Those left to remember Dwayne include his children, Tyler Chambers of the home and Jessica Moore and husband Brian of Moore, OK. He is also survived by one brother Randell Chambers of Welling, OK, two sisters, Linda Chambers of Tahlequah, OK and Sharon Parnell and husband Mitch of Hulbert, OK, two grandkids, Jakob and BrieAnn Moore, five nieces, four nephews along with nineteen great nieces and nephews and a recently reunited high school sweet heart, Jeannie Davis-Hord.

Dwayne will be laid to rest next his wife in Caney Cemetery in the Tailholt Community. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
