Timothy Sargent 70, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Emma Parks, North Bridge St. Saturday afternoon, after several years of declining health. Mr. Sargent was a batchlor and suffered of nervous debility. He had lived with his sister for years, coming here from Fowler. His former neighbors and friends look upon his death as the ending of a tragedy of years duration. They recall the day years ago when Mr. Sargent went forth to help his neighbor thresh, and how the scaffold upon which he was working gave way, how he clung to the wreckage as only a man of strength & determination could, suspended in space above the humming cylinder of a large threshing machine, looking into the very jaws of death until fellow workers rescued him. Physically exhausted, a nervous wreck from the mental agony sustained during those frightfull and breathless moments. Sickness followed & Mr. Sargent never recovered. Funeral services were held from his late home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with burial in Dewitt Cemetary. He was 70 years old.
