Helena was born in Reinfeld, Sagradovka, the daughter of Peter Boschmann (1890-1919) and Helena Bahnmann (1894-1919). After her parents both died, she and her brother Peter were raised by their relatives. Lena married her 1st husband, Heinrich Wiebe on 28 Feb 1938 in Marienburg, Sagradovka. They had two children: Martha (1940) and Arthur (1944) Wiebe. Separated during WWII, Lena and the children fled to Germany, and from there immigrated to South America. In Russia, Heinrich survived the labour camps, and eventually established a second family. Sadly they never saw each other again, but were able to correspond in their later years. Unaware that her husband was still alive, Lena married her 2nd husband Isaak "Kurt" Harms on 3 Jan 1953 in Neu-Halbstadt, Neuland, Paraguay. They were blessed with two more children, Harold (1955) and Sandy (1962) Harms. The family immigrated to Canada and lived in Vancouver, BC.
