Susan was the daughter of Moses Curtis and Emaline Litton Curtis. Her mother died before Sept. 1878 when she was about 14. Her father then married Mary Frances Broadus in 1878. They traveled from Livingston/Davies County, MO to Jack County, Texas about 1880. Susan was married 15 Sept 1881 in Jack Co., TX to George Vine Meador. According to my mother, Lena Meador White, many of the Curtis family died young of "consumption" (tuberculosis).
