Georgina Wernher was a daughter of Sir Harold Augustus Wernher, 3rd Bt., and his wife, Countess Anastasia de Torby, a daughter of Grand Duke Michael Mikhailovich of Russia and his morganatic wife, Sophie von Merenberg, Countess de Torby. She was married on October 10, 1944, to Lt.-Col. Harold Joseph Phillips (born 6 November 1909; died 27 October 1980). They had five children, including Alexandra, Duchess of Abercorn and Natalia, Duchess of Westminster. Following the death of her husband, she was married in 1992 to Sir George Arnold Ford Kennard, 3rd Bt. (27 April 1915 – 13 December 1999).
