WAID (Howard City) - Mr. David E. Waid, aged 67, passed away on Sunday morning, April 17, 2005. He was a graduate of Rockford High School where he was active in sports. At the age of 17 David enlisted in The National Guard and later served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne and after that he served in the Army Reserve-proudly serving the USA for more than 20 years. He was a member of the AMVETS. David worked at GM where he started as a machine operator and later worked with the engineers as a troubleshooter. He received several financial awards for finding solutions to save GM money. David was an active hunter and enjoyed going out west to hunt and fish. You would also find David and his wife, Leone, riding on his motorcycle or enjoying a ride in his Corvette. His advice to his child was "to respect people and be responsible."
