On May 2, 1797, she married John Shoemaker (Johannes Schumacher). The couple lived in Frederick Township, Montgomery County, where they had a family of nine children (two died young). John suffered an accident which resulted in health problems; he died on January 30, 1828.
Mary immigrated to Ontario (then called Upper Canada) in 1829 with her some of her children. (Her oldest child, Jacob, had already settled in the Waterloo region in 1820.) She spent her final years living with her daughter, Magdalena Devitt, in Waterloo Township, where she died on April 6, 1866.

Gravesite Details
The gravestone has been removed; only the base remains. A cemetery record was used to determine the location of the grave.
