David Oscar Horn, Jr., 86, of Fritch, passed away Thursday, April 2 in Amarillo.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 5 at Westlawn Memorial Park, and will be officiated by Pastor Shelby Deatherage. Arrangements are under the direction of Burgin Funeral Home.

He was born on June 22, 1933 in Pampa to David and Ruby Horn.

David was the owner of Horn L.P. Gas from the late '70's through the late '80's. Prior to that, he was a truck driver and an oil field worker. He also operated Larry's Bait Shop in Fritch and supplied fish for the Fritch Museum.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he received a Good Conduct medal and two Sharp Shooter medals. He served in Korea during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, a brother, and a granddaughter.

David is survived by his wife, Carol Horn, of the home; children, Debbie Freeman, Butch Horn, Jeannie McKinney, Larry McKinney, Tammy Carkhuff and husband Judd, Ken Horn and wife Donna, and Cynthia Johnson and husband Will.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristofer, Taylor, Kristen, Kaylee, Josh, Becca, and Victor; along with three great-grandchildren, Izayah, Scarlett, and Ashley.
