Annie Clyde Turner, beloved daughter of the late Willie Clyde Temple and Zella Robinson, was born in Tennille, Georgia on December 27, 1928.

During the early years of her life, she received her formal education in the Washington County School System.

Annie Clyde professed her faith and belief in Christ at a very early age and united with the Union Baptist Church of Tenille, Georgia. She served faithfully for many years. Later in life, she joined St. James Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member and willingly served in numerous capacities until her health declined.

In 1950, she was united in holy matrimony to he love of her life, James “Boy” Turner of Florida. Their union endured through the years and they were blessed with four wonderful children—Annie Ruth, Willie Lee, Ketty, and Lillie Mae. Annie Clyde was a devoted wife and mother who looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness. She was a nurturer at heart, always put her family first, and was selfless with her love.

“Mamean” as she was affectionately called by many, was a very genuine and kind-hearted person with a warm and magnetic personality. She gave of herself effortlessly and saw the highest potential in everyone. She lived a life of service to others and freely opened her heart and home to family and friends. Her unwavering spirit, generosity, and unconditional love will forever be remembered.

On March 16, 2020, Annie was called from labor to reward at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Turner, two children, Ketty James Turner and Lillie Mae Brooks; one grandchild, Oliver Brooks, three great grandchildren, Emmette, Isaiah, and Jordon; and one great-great grandchild, Austin.

She leaves loving memories that will forever remain with her devoted children, Annie Ruth Turner and Willie Lee Turner; 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 39 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
