Helen Marie Griffin, born May 15, 1928 in Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on March 10, 2020, at 91 years of age, in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Helen was married to Roy Lee Griffin on October 25, 1947. In addition to a lifelong homemaker, she also worked as a secretary at Monroe Auto Equipment from 1947 – 1951. In later years, she volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Charlotte, Michigan. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, crossword puzzles coffee and quiet! She loved her Detroit Tigers and followed them faithfully. She also had a quick wit and displayed levity in any situation. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving family members are children: Janet and Phil Hehnlin of St. Louis, MI. Patrick and Tracey Griffin of N. Ft. Myers, FL. Pamela Griffin and Josh Huff of Ft. Myers, FL. Her family includes 10 grandchildren, Sesha Griffin, Kyndra Griffin, Melissa (John) Cummings, Leslie (Lawrence) Ferguson, Laura Griffin (Vergel Quilantang) Adam (Marrissa) Griffin, Kimberly (BJ) Harp, Phillip (Amanda) Hehnlin, Tiffany Beckler and Olivia Huff. Her great grandchildren are Tristan Bucher, Dylan and Dharma Hadders, Cali and Jack Cummings, Sean and Colin Ferguson, Fernando Griffin and Aurelio Quilantang and Brynlee Harp.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents George and Malanka Rafko, husband Roy Griffin, son Randall Griffin, brothers, Nick, John and Peter Rafko, sister Mary Havens and great granddaughter Heidi Ferguson.

Arrangements by Harvey–Engelhardt Funeral and Cremation Services. A service will be held on May 15, 2020 at the Florida National Cemetery at 1 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Half Shell on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Helen’s name to Gabby’s Ladder, P.O. Box 2107, Monroe, MI 48161.
