Mrs. John H. Steinberg, 58, of 1513 W. Franklin St., Appleton, the former Viola Diedrich of Two Rivers, died Friday noon at Appleton Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health nine months.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Appleton, the Rev. Sylvester H. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mrs. Steinberg was born Jan. 14, 1906, at Two Rivers, daughter of the late William and Mrs. Bertha Tess Diedrich. She was married more than 35 years ago to John Steinberg at Two Rivers. The family moved to Appleton in 1936 where Mr. Steinberg established a business.
Besides her husband and mother she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Andrew Foat, of Appleton and Mr. Kenneth Hamilton, of Combined Locks; four sons, Edward, Wayne, Richard and William, of Appleton; five brothers, Reuben, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Elmer, Ervin, Gerhardt and Clarence Diedrich of Two Rivers and 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, until 9:30 a.m. Monday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until the time of service.
