Andrea “Andy” Louise (Shields) Womack, was born July 30, 1965 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Rev. Dr. Landrum E. and Marjorie M. Shields.

Andrea attended Indianapolis Public Schools, James Whitcomb Riley #43, Broad Ripple High School, graduating in 1983. She attended the HBCU, Bennett College, graduating in 1988 with a B.A. in Social Work.

On January 2, 1988, Andrea was united in holy matrimony to Lyndon B. Womack. Two children were blessed to that union.

At a young age, Andy was very spiritual and loved the Lord. She was always first to read her scriptures at the family devotion time each Saturday morning! Andrea professed her faith and was baptized at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church. She was also a Charter member of Covenant Community Church, where her father was pastor until his passing in 2011. In the more recent years, she continued her spiritual connection with the Lord by fellow shipping with the Changing Places Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Rockland Lay and Pastor Paula Lay.

Andy used her Social Work degree to work in the court system at the Marion County City County Building, first as a Bailiff and then as a Court Reporter. She retired after a 26-year career in the Criminal and Circuit Courts, that proved to be very rewarding to her. She was said to be a delight to work with by the judges, attorneys, bailiffs, law enforcement officers, and the like. Many dear friendships were developed and she will sorely be missed there! Her husband affectionately called her “Judge Judy”, because she was no nonsense on the job and “regularly” used her skills at home!

Andrea was very meticulous in her appearance and loved to look her best, especially her hair! She loved entertaining family and friends, especially celebrating every family occasion! She also loved cooking and cleaning her house! Her house was always neat no matter when you might visit!

Music was the vein that ran throughout her life…Dancing to “Old School” music, devotional time with gospel music, Hip Hop and Jazz, even jamming to “Baby Shark” with her youngest grandson. Every year, her husband would take her to the Jazz Festival and other concerts. They also traveled extensively and enjoyed those experiences!

Andy was a joy to have as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, cousin and dear friend to us all! She had an infectious laugh, great sense of humor, delightful smile and a loving and caring heart that will never be duplicated!

Andrea departed this life on March 22, 2020 at the age of 54 years young. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her!

Andrea is survived by her beloved husband, Lyndon B. Womack, Sr., daughter, Alaina S. Womack, son, Lyndon B. Womack, Jr.; brother, Landrum E. Shields, Jr., two sisters, Sharyn C. (Kevin) Jones and Laurita Shields; two nephews, John N. Broaden, Jr. and Evan M. Broaden; two grandsons, Christian N. Allen and Kyndel B. Womack and her beloved dog Snoop! She also leaves a host of other family and friends.
