Dennis is survived by his siblings, Grant (Penny) Hammond, Nancy (the late Michael) Brenczewski, David (Ginger) Fleming and Doris (John) Thompson; loving companion, Gwen Wiley; cousin, Becky (Ron) Kleckner; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Richie Henson.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Vera (nee Allen) Hammond; and one brother, Bruce Fleming.
Dennis was an avid Indy Car racing fan and fisherman and also loved attending auctions and flea markets. He was a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300. He worked with the emergency responders in the Joliet area.
A celebration of Dennis' life will begin on Saturday, December 27, 2014, with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park II Hills of Rest. Visitation will be on Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
