Annette Christy Falkner
Annette Christy Falkner passed away peacefully on Feb. 14, 2017, in Sarasota, Fla., from complications of ALS. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Christy and Kathleen Christy; her grandchildren, Christy Nitz and Adam Nitz; her brother, John LaMantia; and her husband of 40 years, August (John) Falkner Jr., as well as his six children and their children and grandchildren. Annette was born in Chicago on Oct. 11, 1932, and was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School. She was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor. A celebration of life Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware Drive, Benton Harbor, with Monsignor Eugene Sears officiating. Annette will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to ALS research, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
