John L Gilligan, 119 Potter St, Dunmore, died yesterday morning in Veterans Administration Hospital, Plains, after a brief illness. A veteran of World War I, Mr Gilligan was employed in the diesel shops of the Lackawanna Railroad and was a member of St Mary's Church, Dunmore, and its Holy Name Society. He was a lifelong Dunmore resident. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Boland; two sons, John at home and Frank of Washington DC; two daughters, Mrs MJ McGraw of Wilmington DE and Miss Marie Gilligan at home; a brother, Frank of Scranton and two sisters, Mrs William McDonald and Miss Gretta Gilligan, both of Dunmore; and several nieces and nephews.
