Marcellus, MI – Richard Earl Oliver, 92, passed away at 9:15pm on Sunday, March 29. 2020 in his home surround by his loving family.

Richard was born on September 16, 1927 near Scranton, PA to the late, Earl and Pearl (Stanton) Oliver. Richard was also preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Beverley Oliver Stocksdale.

On September 6, 1847, Richard married, Kathryn “Ruth” (Strength). They had been happily married for over 72 years. She survives along with son, Richard (Kay) Oliver; daughter, Cheryl (Rob) Oliver Kern; son-in-law, Thomas “TY” Stocksdale; sisters, Marian “Aunt Sis” (Alfred) Emery, and Ruth Smith; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Richard honorable served his county in the US Army. He worked as a carpenter and then was a Senior Associate at T.R. Arnold and Associates in Elkhart. He enjoyed antique radios, gardening and woodworking. He was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God.

The family is planning to have a Celebration of Life Service for Richard sometime later in the summer. CHAPEL HILL FUNERAL HOME, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN 46561 is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
