After many years of Bledsoe Family research and looking for the grave of Dr. Bledsoe and wife Julia W Harris I have concluded they are buried in this cemetery in unmarked graves. This memorial will link Dr. Bledsoe to his Kentucky family and answer many unknown questions regarding his history.
This is from my Reeder Family History Book. "Dr Bledsoe was born in 1803 in this house built by Rev Joseph ca. 1797 on the Bledsoe farm in Rockhouse Bottom. His education was in local boarding schools and in the mid 1820’s at the Transylvania University located at Lexington Kentucky where his uncle Judge Jesse Bledsoe was a professor. I’m not sure of the year Dr. Bledsoe arrived in Overton County. He is listed on the 1836 county tax list. Records show his son Benjamin Franklin was born in Overton County in 1831."
