Janet Marie (Williams) (Davenport) Stone, 74, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after being stricken ill at her home. She was the wife of Lance R. Stone and the late James F. Davenport. Born June 19, 1939, in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Matthew A. Williams and Marguerite G. (Flynn) Williams. A lifelong Brockton resident, she graduated from Brockton High School. Janet work for Goddard Park Medical for many years in the Medical Records Department. She enjoyed traveling and dining out and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Janet was always known for loving and caring for others. She is survived by her husband, Lance R. Stone of Brockton; her sons, James P. Davenport of Mansfield and Lance A. Stone of Easton; her grandchildren, Sean P., Katherine E., Mary M., and Margaret Davenport and their mother Nancy Davenport; her sisters, Joanne Brides and Judy Piers both of Yarmouth. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Matthew F. Williams. Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
