Obituary from the Alamogordo Daily News, August 8, 2007: Thomas Michael "Tom" McGinn, 78, of Alamogordo, died Saturday, August 4, 2007, in Alamogordo with his family by his side. Thomas was born March 30, 1929, in Colon, Panama, to Thomas and Edith (Bruck) McGinn. He was brought home on Easter Sunday and his brother Charles dubbed him "Bunny". All who knew him in Panama called him Bunny from then on.

In September 1953, he married Arden Landahl. They had three boys, Chris in 1954, Sean in 1957, and Tim in 1968. During those years, Tom worked in Guatemala, Columbia, and Honduras while employed by United Fruit Company, then in California with such companies as Thomas English Muffins, Cool Whip and Johnson Pie Company. Arden died in 1972 due to cancer, and Tom remarried in 1974 to Shirley. They were married 11 years.

In 1985 Tom met Dreena Bose, and were married in 1991. They traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. He was an accomplished author, penning four books, and accomplished his goal of building the Pistachio Tree Ranch.

Survivors include his wife Dreena, of the family home; three sons, Christopher McGinn and his wife Silva, and Sean McGinn and his wife Mary, all of Oakton, Virginia, and Tim McGinn and his wife Clarissa, of Alamogordo; four stepchildren, Charles Bose and his wife Mary, of Las Cruces, Gregory Bose of Alamogordo, Kevin Bose and his wife Amie, of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, and Sabrina Phillips and her husband Gary of San Antonio, Texas; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildrn; and three brothers, Charles McGinn of Charlotte, North Carolina, William McGinn, of Rancho Palo Verdes, California, and Noel McGinn of Nahant, Massachusetts.

A vigil service Thomas Michael "Tom" McGinn will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with the rosary to be recited by Deacon Don Dickman.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church in La Luz with Father Bruce Hausfeld, O.F.M., as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Light Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Lattauzio, Dale Ritchie, Richard Haskell, Carmelo Gonzales, John Myers, Becket McGinn, Kevin Bose Jr. and Javier Amador. Honorary pallbearers will be William Mason, Shawn Bose, Ian McGinn, Matthew Bose and Herb Baxter.
