Mary Elizabeth Nixon, age 90, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Monia Lori Pergram, was born on April 11, 1929, in Lexington, Kentucky. After growing up in Kentucky, she was united in marriage to Vearl Arnold Nixon, Sr. and throughout their many years together, they relocated several times throughout the states. Early on in life, she was a certified nursing assistant but later began cleaning houses in the community. While living in North Vernon, Indiana, she served as a foster grandparent to many kids and could often be found working in the schools.

She was a firm believer in Christ and attended church in North Vernon. She enjoyed painting, cooking, spending time with her foster kids, and taking care of her flowers, especially her African Violets, Roses, and Geraniums. Ms. Nixon passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.

Her life will be cherished by her children: Myra Nixon, of Madison, Mary Jane Irons and her husband, Leonard John of Madison, Edward James Seal, Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Cleves, Ohio, William Morris Nixon of Bedford, Kentucky, Vearl Arnold Nixon, Jr. of Deputy, Indiana; and John DeWade Nixon of Bedford, Kentucky; twenty-three grandchildren, and quite a few great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: Timmy Dale Seal, Robert Russell Seal, and Douglas Allen Nixon; her husband, Vearl, who passed away on October 31, 2014, and three grandchildren.

At her request, no services will be held.
