Tara Lynn Stone, age 43, of Dunn, died on Sunday Morning, March 29, 2020 at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab in Dunn.
Tara was born on December 16, 1976, the daughter of Ray and Carolyn Stone. Tara grew up in Sampson County going to Midway High School where she played volleyball and played All Conference. She received an Honorary High School Diploma from Midway High School. Her ambition in life was to become a Marine Biologist, she was concerned with the environment and the wetlands.
She is survived by her Parents: Ray & Carolyn Stone of Dunn, NC; brother: Kurt Stone and wife Kimber of Greenville, NC; sister: Renee VanderVorst and husband Jeffrey of Dallas, Texas; nieces & nephews: Alli & Austin VanderVorst, Kaleb, Kourtney, Kallie & Kassie Stone; and host of Aunts, Uncles & Cousins.
Due to the current health concerns there will be no visitation, but a Celebration of Life Service for Tara will be held at a later date.
A Private Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 11:00 am at Lee’s Chapel/ Williford Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Weaver officiating.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials be made to Grove Presbyterian Church, 1358 Jonesboro Rd., Dunn, NC 28334 or Friends Fighting Cancer, P.O. Box 2265, Dunn, NC 28335.
