Shawnee resident Steven Keith Weeks died April 26, 1998 in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 50. Services were held at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee. Weeks was born Jan. 2, 1948 in Poplar Bluff MO the son of William H and Laura Melvina Weeks. He graduated from Windsor (MO) High School and received an Associate Degree with honors in computer science from Seminole State College. He married Patricia Fruit in Shawnee on July 19, 1969. Weeks retired as a petty officer first class from the US Navy in 1979 and the family moved to Shawnee from Maryland. He was a computer programmer for the data services division of the Department of Human Service. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as an usher and on the buildings maintenance committee. He was a former scout master of troop 407 at First Christian Church and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. Preceding him in death were his father William H Weeks, his father in law Lawrence D Fruit, and his grandparents.
