1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), out of Fort Lewis, WA

He died as a result of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device. He was sent to Iraq in July 2006, after spending a year at Fort Lewis, WA. Among his military awards and decorations were the Purple Heart (2); Army Commendation Medal; Bronze Star; and Good Conduct Medal.
