SISTER STEPHANIE ROBINSON, OP, formerly Marguerite Robinson, a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York for the past 67 years, died on March 29, 2020 in St. Martin de Porres Community at the motherhouse. Sister Stephanie was 87 years of age.

Sister Stephanie was born to George and Marguerite Kautz Robinson on July 27, 1932 in New York City. She entered the Sisters of St. Dominic on July 16, 1952 from St. John’s Parish, Bronx, New York. Sister Stephanie received the Dominican Habit on January 27, 1953, professed her first vows on January 28, 1954, and her final vows on May 24, 1957.

Sister held the AAS from Dominican College, Blauvelt, N.Y. and a NYS license as a Dental Assistant.

Sister Stephanie’s many years of active ministry were varied. Sister worked in St. Dominic’s Home, in the children’s dining room (1954-1957); as a Cottage Mother (1957-1959); at the convent and home as portress and dental assistant (1959-1968); unit supervisor St. Dominic’s Home (1969-1973); in the Child Care Office (1973-1980); dental office (1981-1986); PT dental assistant/assistant supervisor of household (1986-1988). At the motherhouse she served as director of food services (1988-1991); supervisor of the diet kitchen for the Sisters’ infirmary (1991-1997); wellness center/director of household (1997-1999); Secretary General (1999-2005); Sisters’ giftshop (2005-2009); community service (2009-2014).

Due to illness, Sister Stephanie retired to St. Martin de Porres Community in 2014.

In addition to her religious congregation, Sister Stephanie is survived by her sister-in-law Marianne Robinson and her niece Mee-Lisa Robinson. Sister was predeceased by her parent George and Marguerite and her brother Robert.
Burial will take place in St. Dominic’s Cemetery on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

A memorial Mass will take place at a later date.

Arrangements have been made by Hannemann Funeral Service, Nyack, N.Y.
