Her childhood in the 40's and 50's was during the years she always said were the best time to grow up. Karen graduated from Crivitz High School in 1958.
She married Joseph Tomaszewski (Thomas) on September 27th, 1958.
Together they raised their three children, who she always said were the most important things to her. As years went by their family gained a son-in-law, daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.
Karen worked in various retail settings through the years. She was especially gifted at putting together wonderful vignettes and eye-catching displays, and was always very interested in home décor and fashion.

her brother Roger (Mary) Wojtkiewicz
