Thomas Burton Faulkner was born in April 1883 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to Hutchins Burton Faulkner and Margaret Frances "Fanny" Mills.
Thomas' father died when he was about five year of age and his mother married second to Philip Jackson Taylor. The family moved to Louisville, then on to Davidson County, Tennessee. Thomas' mother, Fanny, died in 1909 and the family again moved to Cairo, Illinois.
Burton married, had three children, and was living in Cairo at the time of his death at the age of 29. His funeral was held at the home of his sister, Mary Elizabeth Faulkner Jacobs, in Tennessee and Burton is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.
