Our beloved mother and grandmother, Carrol Fischer, 83, passed from this life on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

Carrol Lanell Kasberg was born December 26, 1936, to Bernard (Slim) and Olga (Lange) Kasberg in Runnels County, Texas.

She attended school in Kristoff and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Rowena, Texas.

She married Ivan Fischer, of Bethel, on April 10, 1956, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rowena. They farmed at the Crossroads in Miles before moving to Pear Valley, TX where they farmed and ranched and raised their children.

Ivan and Carrol were true partners in life, as well as in farming and ranching. Carrol loved gardening, playing the piano, singing, dancing and traveling. Carrol was very kind, loving and loyal. She saw the best in everyone and had a very deep Catholic faith.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, daughter Carolyn and Bill Dodson of Veribest; Sons: Steve and Linda Fischer of Pear Valley, Gary and Donna Fischer of Wall, David and Cherian Fischer of Eola and Robert and Donna Fischer of Veribest. Grandchildren and their spouses: Kyle and Stacy Fischer, Stephanie and Elijah Nelson, Traccy Fischer, Justin Fischer, Denise, and Ben Galicia, DJ and Becca Fischer, Landon and Ashley Fischer, Robynn and Matt Jones and Christopher Vandine. Great-grandchildren: Luke and Lynlee Fischer, Shelby Wharton and Ryker Nelson, Isaiah Delarosa, Gemma Galicia, Dalton Fischer, Addisyn, Hudson and Grayson Fischer and Kasey and Ty Jones. In-laws include LaRita Jansa, Barbara Fischer, John Gunyon, Daniel and Harriett Fischer, and Edwin and Eldoris Zly. As well as numerous Kasberg and Fischer nieces and nephews.

Carrol was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Fischer, her son Douglas Fischer, her parents, Bernard and Olga Kasberg, siblings and their spouses Nancy & Ralph Smetana, Dennis Kasberg, Bernie and Rose Kasberg (and their children Richard, John, and Roseann) and Deanna and Joe Schniers. Her in-laws, Dan and Anna (Wilde) Fischer, Francis Fischer, Harvey Fischer, Marcella Zly, Arlene Gunyon, Daniel Jansa, and Peggy Fischer. As well as her niece Karla Zly Cook and great-niece Lyndi Fischer Dieringer.

A private graveside service, due to COVID-19, will be held at St. Boniface Cemetery in Olfen.

A celebration of Carrol’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Boniface Cemetery.
