James Madison Colvin, age 71 of Attalla, passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Angellette Williams and Ross Owen Colvin; brothers, Owen Colvin, Paul Colvin, and George Colvin; and granddaughter, Jade Campbell.

James was born in Attalla, Alabama, the middle sibling of seven children. He drove a tank in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he received a purple heart. After his time in the service, he worked as a master carpenter. He lived in Montevallo, Alabama, for more than twenty years. He was an avid football fan, and he loved fishing and could catch a fish when no one else could. He loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, cooking out, or planting a garden. He was an animal lover, and people were drawn to his sweet, kind nature. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking to people. He was an amazing father and PawPaw.
