Mr. Willie “Gene” James Carter, 73, died Tuesday April 10, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness. He was the son of the late Odell and Mildred Hines Carter. He had lived in Mayo for the past year and half after moving here from Ocala. He is preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Browning and three brothers, Melvin, Earl, and Piejoe Carter and he was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by four children(2 sons & 2 daughters) two brothers, six sisters, eight grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.(Names of living withheld per FAG guidelines)
Graveside service were conducted April 17, 2018 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, FL. with Brother Robert Moore, officiating. Interment followed with graveside services.
