Rachel was born in Wayne County on December 16, 1926 to the late Ivey Aaron Wadsworth and Thelma Edwards Wadsworth. She was married for 55 years to the late Ezekiel M. “Zeke” Turner, Jr. Rachel was a faithful member of Spring Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church. She was a true Christian lady who loved God and lived each day showing those around her what faith in action is all about.
The family will gather on Tuesday for a private graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Al Warrick and Rev. Chris Casey officiating. A memorial service to celebrate Rachel’s life will be held at a later date at Spring Hill O.F.W.B. Church.
Rachel is survived by her daughters, Sandra Turner Fisher and husband Doug of Goldsboro and Lynette Turner Capps and husband John of Apex; grandsons, Morris Dail and wife Ginger, Brandon Capps and wife Cindy, and Bradley Capps and wife Stephanie; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Dail, Charlee Dail, Turner Capps, Shelby Capps, Allie Grace Capps, and Levi Capps. She is also survived by her dear friend, Marie Brogden.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bertie Wadsworth Bell, Barbara Inez Wadsworth, Edith Jones Wadsworth, Magdalene Massengill, and Marie Wadsworth Grantham; and brothers, Ivey Aaron Wadsworth Jr., David Jacob Wadsworth, Donald Edward Wadsworth and Orby Oscar Wadsworth.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Spring Hill O.F.W.B. Church, 2127 U.S. 70, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
