He worked as a truck driver for many years and enjoyed playing bingo. He enjoyed dirt track racing and especially working as the crew chief for his brother, Robert and his son, Michael.
Surviving Joe are a daughter, Jenny (Gary) Deering and son, Michael (Brianne) Hall; three sisters, Donna Hogan, Kim Gilley and Theresa Staron; five brothers, Rick Walker, Tony Walker, Randy Head, Marcus Head and Robert Head and grandchildren, Dalton, Eli, Abbygayle, Landen, Lincoln and Ansley.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Beth Wingert and by brothers, Jon Hall and Grant Head.
Graveside services and burial will be held at Baskett Cemetery in Baskett, Kentucky.
