Skip was born on January 12, 1946 in Windsor, Ontario to Dorothy and Harry Marshall.
He graduated from Mackenzie High School in Detroit. He served in the United States Navy from 1965-1968 with three tours in Vietnam. He worked in the elevator trade, mainly for Otis Elevator Company, for over 35 years. Skip was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going on fishing charters with friends and family. He also loved learning about his ancestry and maritime history.
