Belinda F. Hayes, 69 years of age and a longtime resident of the Ocean Shores, Washington area, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at Providence Saint Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. She was born on April 30, 1950, in Sunnyside, Washington to Doyle Richard and Evelyn Joyce (Myers) Miller.

The family moved from the Yakima Valley area to the Copalis area when she was six years old. There she attended Copalis Elementary School, Moclips High School and then Grays Harbor Community College for a year. She had been a cheerleader and was the first female class president. Growing up she helped take care of her sisters, helped with the household chores and the operation of the family business. She later was a travel agent for some 13 years as was always a homemaker.

Belinda F. Miller was married to Bruce Wayne Hayes on June 6, 1969 at the Copalis Community Church at Copalis Beach. The couple had lived at Ocean Shores, Aberdeen, Tacoma, Federal Way and then back to Ocean Shores where they have since resided.

She worked with her parents at the family business, a seafood cannery and also worked at Waller Travel.

In her spare time she taught Sunday School Classes, was a Girl Scout Co-Leader, a member of the Ocean Shores Fire Fighter’s Association and the Ocean Shores Eagles Auxiliary.

She attended the Copalis Community Church and had attended the Lutheran and other churches in Ocean Shores, Las Vegas and Arizona.

The couple had traveled to London, Paris, Egypt, Africa, Mexico, Hawaii, Tahiti, all of the US States and parts of Canada. Bruce and Belinda were “snow birds” to the Southwest.

Her hobbies included decorating, playing poker, singing, boating and watching movies.

She will long be remembered for loving God; loving her husband, children, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Doyle M. Miller and an infant son, Doyle R. Miller, Jr.

At her celebration of life service, she does not want sadness, but for people to have a happy spirit as Belinda lived a full and wonderful life.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam
