Abbie (Templeton) Gibson was born on December 31, 1893 in Arkansas, the daughter of John Rufus "J R" Templeton (1859–1931) and Sarah A "Sallie" (Bourland) Templeton (1869–1946).
She was married on July 24, 1912 at Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas to Hal Ottus Gibson (1890–1975), who died in Maury County, Tennessee.
Living at 2114 Portland Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, Abbie was 62 years old and married when she died at Saint Thomas Hospital of adenocarcinoma of the colon on October 21, 1956. Burial was the next day in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
