Son of Isaac T Love and Mae M Love. He graduated from Gettysburg College with degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry. In 1951, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a Military Police Officer and then Office of Special Investigations (OSI) for 20 years. While stationed at Ramey AFB, he met Iris Marrero and married her on April 18, 1954 in the Presbyterian Church of Aquadilla, Puerto Rico. They moved to their current home in Bowie, MD in August 1967. He later retired from the military as a Major, and then worked for the Library of Congress until 1986, retiring as Director of Personnel Security. Upon his retirement from the government, he worked part time at Bowie Golf and Country Club. He was a member of Christian Community Presbyterian Church (CCPC), where he served as a deacon and usher. He was predeceased by his parents and wife, Iris. Surviving are his daughters, Linda, Diane and her husband, Brian Waak, and Karen and her husband, Gerald Hanes; sons, Joseph S and wife, Robin, and Brian and wife, Sandra; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Jenae and Kyle, Mitchell and Stephanie, Rachel, Lindsey, and Brandon; and brother, Isaac and wife, Marilyn.
