A Private Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2020, in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to "Shawn's Fund" c/o Farmers & Merchants Bank, 221 East Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461, or by stopping in at any branch of Farmers & Merchants Bank.
Shawn was born November 30, 1991, in Georgetown County, SC, a son of Jay Gibson and Sheila Wrenn-Thornley. He formerly attended Timberland High School, but graduated from South Florence High School. He also attended Florence-Darlington Technical College. Shawn had many hobbies, but his favorite was watching pro football, especially the Houston Texans. He was also a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union.
Surviving are, his father and step mother, Lisa, of Florence; his mother and step father, Robert, of Moncks Corner; is fiancee' Ellen Horton of Florence; his infant daughter, Braven Gibson of Florence; three sisters, Macey Brinson of Moncks Corner, Carrissa Watkins of Florence, and Annmarie Thornley of Beaver Dam; three brothers, Wesley Watkins of Florence, and Adam Thornley and Jacob Thornley both of Beaver Dam; his grandmother, Frances Daniels of Florence; and many nieces and nephews.
