Elizabeth Shell
b. Feb. 22, 1854
d. Feb 18, 1903

The Greenville Advocate (Greenville, Alabama), 19 Feb 1908, Wednesday:
Dies at her home at Pigeon Creek, Ala., on the 10th [sic] inst., Mrs. George D. Shell from a relapse from the measles. "Tis sad indeed to note the death of so good a woman, for it was said be the people who knew her that she was a good Christian woman, always ready to assist in bringing comfort to all around her, especially to the sick and distressed. She was to George a good wife , to her three sons a mother indeed and made the burden of her life the welfare of her family. She strove so hard to educate and fit her boys for life's duties. Two of her sons are married; J.T. [sic] Shell lives at Georgiana, E.M. Shell at Pigeon Creek and J.T. [sic] Shell at the home. She will be missed by us all , but most by her husband and sons to whom she has so often ministered.

Note from Chriss Perkins: I have entered the date of death as 18 Feb as it was transcribed, but tend to believe the 10 Feb from the death notice is more likely correct.
