LeNora Malm, 99, of Mahtomedi, MN formerly of Kulm, ND, passed away March 24, 2020 at Encore Memory Care, Mahtomedi, MN.

LeNora Larson Malm was born on March 27, 1920, to Elmer and Olga (Grundberg) Larson in Raney Township north of Kulm, North Dakota.

She attended rural elementary school and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1938. She received a B.A. degree in English and Latin at Jamestown College in 1942 and began her teaching career at Jud High School. During World War II, she taught at Prosser, Washington. After her marriage in 1945, she was an instructor at Kulm High School (North Dakota) from 1945 – 1947 and 1961 – 1976.
On September 16, 1945, she was married to Daniel (Denvy) Malm, after his return from overseas service in World War II. They were both baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Kulm, N.D. on March 22, 1953 and remained members until its closing in 2009. After her husband’s death that same year, Lenore attended and later became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Edgeley, N.D., their dual parish member. They were both active members at St. Paul’s for 48 years.
They spent winter months in Arizona for many years, visiting with her three sisters and families from Washington state. When Denvy passed away in December 2009, Lenore moved into Kulm.

LeNora is survived by two daughters: Laura (Jim) Nejfelt of Manassas, VA. They have two sons, Daniel (Beth) Nejfelt of Washington, DC, and Eric (Rita) Nejfelt of Warrenton, VA. Their children are Genevieve and Jay. Her other daughter is Julie Honsa of Mahtomedi, MN, and children Jonathan and Ellen, a step-granddaughter, Courtney (Matt) Bouthilet and son Henry, all of MN. Nieces and nephews: John (Kay) Smoke, Mary (Jon) Dwinell, Dan (Sandy) Dahl, all of Seattle, Ruth (John) Matsuyoshi of Hawaii, Alice (Glen) Allison, Brian(Melinda) Dahl of Pasco WA.; also her husband’s nieces and nephews, Lois (Merle) Bentson, Jeff (Lucy) Malm, Marvel (Harvey) Lindgren of Kulm, Reed (Marianna) Malm of Fargo, Debbie Malm of Bismarck, Luanne (Doug) Swenson of Marshalltown, IA, and LeNore’s dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Denvy, three sisters, Edith (Ruben) Dahl, Harriet (Robert) Dahl, and Norma (Bill) Smoke.
