He was born May 29, 1947 in Lafayette, IN, to the late Ike Conley Vaughn and Betty Louise (Justice) Vaughn.
He married Brenda Mullendore on August 10, 1973 in West Lafayette. She preceded him in death.
Craig proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 1966 to May 1969. He learned the building trade while working for his fathers construction business during high school and after his military service. He was a natural athlete during high school at Klondike he led the county in scoring his junior and senior year in basketball. He had previously worked for the State of Indiana as a Building Inspector followed later as the Building Commissioner of Tippecanoe County. He later went to work for Venture Logistics / Subaru as Truck Driver.
He loved fast cars and riding motorcycles, he was accomplished at trap shooting frequently breaking 100 straight, he loved coon hunting, fishing, drag racing at Bunker Hill, and a variety of motorsports.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Kelly Nicole Vaughn.
Surviving are two sons, Rhett Vaughn and Seth (Nicholle) Vaughn, both of Lafayette; Craigs fiancé, Lisa Kirk of Lafayette; sister Connie (Ron) Vlahos of Michigan; brother Steven "Carey" (Cheri) Vaughn of Battle Ground, and granddaughter Sloane Vaughn of Lafayette of whom he truly adored.
