She was the daughter of the late Hervey and Tessie Ransberry Jackson. In 1944, she was married to the late Harry Learn and in 1995, she was married to the late Loren Hastings.
Barbara graduated from Hinsdale Central School in 1943.
She worked at Dresser Clark, owned Barbara's Beauty Salon and was a beautician at St. Elizabeth's Motherhouse in Allegany.
Barbara was a volunteer at Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Cuba Hospital 60 Plus Club; a charter member of Forest Eagles 4216 in Silver Springs, Fla., and the Red Hotties Hatters. She was a member of the Ischua Methodist Church, where she was an organist for many years.
Barbara enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles and reading and her many close friends, including a special friend, Sue Hale, who preceded her. She dearly loved her grandchildren, spending many happy times with them.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Joe) Soard; a son, Bruce (Melissa) Hastings; a son-in-law, Ken Poe; grandchildren, Joseph (Leslie) Poe, Christopher (Kellie) Poe, Brendan Poe, Mark Kerswill, Joseph Learn, and Samuel, Robert and Rachael Hastings; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Jackson; a daughter, Carol (Ken) Poe; and a son, Robert (Debbie) Learn.
