Lillian C. Satrom, 99, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Lillian Caroline Satrom was born November 18, 1920, to Carl and Tena (Groven) Smith, near Galesburg, ND. She was raised on the farm and baptized and confirmed at Elm River Lutheran Church. She graduated Valedictorian from Galesburg High School in 1939 and then worked for her uncles and neighbors. Lillian and Morris Satrom were married September 13, 1941 at the Elm River Lutheran Church. The couple farmed until moving to Fargo in 1988. After Morris passed away in 1991, Lillian continued living in Fargo at Trollwood for over 20 years and then became a resident of Rosewood on Broadway.

Lillian hosted all of the family dinners and gatherings until the age of 95. She was very artistic with special arts and crafts for the grandchildren's sleepovers, also making pressed floral cards. Lillian loved baking cakes, especially doll cakes for family and friends.

She was a life member of Elm River Lutheran Church rural Galesburg. Lillian taught Sunday school, was a member and had been president of the Ladies Aid and assisted with Luther League. Morris and Lillian were the first couple to sit together during church services, thus changing the men and women sitting on opposite sides. She was a member of Homemakers and the 1920 Pen Pal Club. She also enjoyed puzzles, gardening and photography. Lillian loved to read and had read the Bible from cover to cover numerous times. Praying for her family every day was very important to her. Lillian was affectionately known as "GG" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared in her life daughters: Karen Satrom, Elizabeth Buss, and Jean Stacey (Robert); three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Dorothy Smith.

Preceding her in death: parents; husband: Morris; six sisters and three brothers.
