Larry Robert “Bub” Russell, Jr., 56 of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 surrounded by his family.
As a result of the mandated restrictions on public gatherings, a private viewing will be held at Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care followed by a public graveside service at 11:30 am Friday, March 20, 2020 in Harristown Cemetery.
A public memorial service will be held at a later date as the restrictions are lifted at Life Builders Church of God (833 West Pershing Road, Decatur, IL)
Bub was born in February 1964 in Decatur, the son of Larry and Shirley Russell. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and worked for JJ Friis Trucking. As a five time track champion, Bub lived for his nights at the race track.
He is survived by his parents, daughter Samantha Ragan; step-sons, Jimmy Irvin, Joel (Brittany) Irvin and their son, Jonathan; granddaughters, Baylee, Nikki, and Maddy; brothers, David (Sharilyn) Russell, Butch (Lisa) Russell, Todd (Jeff) Russell-Cook; sisters, Linda (Joe) Thompson, Thersia Skinner, Laura Russell; brother by heart Jon Durflinger and several nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
