Willa Marie Billie Miller, 86, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Billie was born April 19, 1931 the daughter of Theodore and Ethel (Kemp) Miller, in Uniontown, PA. After high school she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She had been an Ashtabula resident for over 30 years and enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the Red Cross, AMHA, AARP, and the Senior Center. Billie loved creative cooking, reading, writing in a journal, and gardening and growing herbs. She was also a talented artist, and specialized in still life and landscape paintings. She attended the Berean Bible Church, and was a member of the VFW #943 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, Kerry Kerkel of Inyokern, CA, Daniel Kerkel of London, England, and Scott Kerkel, of Mentor, OH; two sisters, Edith Hribar and Linda Miller; three brothers, Lonny, Richard, and Timothy (Marianne) Miller; two grandchildren, Kristi Awicki of Maryland and Matthew Kerkel of Florida; and one great-grandchild, Kailey Awicki. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kerkel; parents, Ted and Ethel Miller; brothers, Jack, Ted, and Bob Miller; and sister, Cherie Claridge.
